The Mumbai Police has separately registered a case against Rashid Siddiqui for defamation, public misconduct and willful disrespect for his post against the city police, the Maharashtra government and Minister Aditya Thackeray.

Rashid Siddiqui was granted anticipatory bail in the case by a Mumbai court on November 3, who directed him to cooperate in the investigation.
